    Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I tried many times to fix this issue ,but unable to do that

I request everyone to please give me suggestion so that I can implement that in our environment.

    Query:

We have windows server 2008 R2 in our environment , Proxy settings that we have is User based, IF any user move from one location to another location ,he will be getting proxy settings on User account ,where the user account exist in OU, But the requirement that we exactly want is ,we don't want proxy settings applying based on user configuration ,we want it to apply on the basis of Computer configuration ,in that case if user is coming from any location ,if he login , will be getting proxy settings on that is applied on computer configuration . Whenever we try to implement this ,Windows 7 it is working , but on windows 8 or 8.1 it is not applying.

Proxy Settings on computer machine configuration , proxy needs to be assigned on the basis of computer accounts, so that I don't need to change the user account location everytime.

Please suggest me on urgent basis.

    Thanks and Regards

    Lalit Kumar

  • Hi

Unfortunallety only you can configure Proxy settings on user settings by via Gpo,But you should configure the Proxy settings for users on your Proxy Server(if you have).Just configure specific rules for specific locations.then user get location Proxy settings automaticly.

    How did you try exactly?

And anyway - the easiest way would be using site policies. The second
easiest way would be Group Policy Preferences Internet Settings with
Item Level Targeting for the Site.
