Create new SharePoint Login page for FBA users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to know how can we change the login page of sharepoint.

    I have the following scenario:
I need to create a login page for FBA users that, apart from the user name and password fields, also contains a E-Grid where in users will put in numbers corresponding to the displayed alphabets. (The alpahabets and corresponding number have been sent to the user separately).

I have successfully implemented the login page in ASP.NET and I have put the login page in the layouts folder of sharepoint and I have updated the loginUrl in the web.config to my new page.

I can see my new page but when I try to login using this page, even though the user gets authenticated, sharepoint does not identify the user. It still shows me the sign in link on the top right hand corner of the page.

I can't figure out what is going wrong. I have authenticated the user using the membership provider code. Do we need some different code for users to be identified in sharepoint.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Huzefa Mala.
