Asset Intelligence SoftwareCount not accurate / being updated RRS feed

  • Our Asset Intelligence "SoftwareCount" and products under Inventoried Software doesn't seem to be properly updating. I have shut the machine off, removed it from AD, and deleted it from SCCM. On it was some software that only existed in our network on it specifically.  AI shows "1" under SoftwareCount still, but a query from the "All Devices" collection correctly returns 0 members. I have set the site maintenance task of "Summarize Installed Software Data" to every day, Delete Aged Inventory History set to 5 days now (it was 30), and the machine has been off / inactive for 8 days.  

    What needs to be done to make the AI Inventoried Software have the correct count? I can't seem to find much on any forums about this, outside of a few others having similar issues.  This is a major issue, and is messing with my SOX / 800-171 audits and my management is now wondering if SCCM is up to this level of "task" of tracking installed software!

  • Did you look at the built-in reports to see where the software is installed or is it using cashed results view that will get updated in a few days.

  • The software does not show up in the AI reports; I did 06A and 06B. But, it still shows up in "\Assets and Compliance\Overview\Asset Intelligence\Inventoried Software" with a 1 for SoftwareCount...and that 1 system is the one I know is turned off, disconnected, deleted from AD, and deleted from SCCM too. I just patched this server to KB4517869, and just did some other OS-level updates right now and rebooted.

  • Hi Matt,

    For the “Summarize Installed Software Data”, could you check when is the “last start time”? Did it success?  Did it run after we delete the software? If we wait some more time, will is disappear from “Inventoried Software”?
