Error 0x8024002E same GPO RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

In my environment I have 4 DCs 2016 and ~1200 computers (7 & 10). I created a special GPO for domain controller concerning wsus. All was working fine until last week (don't know why this time), I got this issue : " 0x80072ee6"

After I did a Get-WindowsUpdateLog on the last .etl file to have this information : "failed to extract distribution server host name from URL:<NULL>, hr = 0x80072ee6"

The problem appears on two DCs only. All updates are downloaded and installed fine on the two others. I searched everywhere but they have exactly the same configuration and same GPOs. The problem is not about detection but on the download. This is all what I know.

Have you got any idea ?

  • Hi,

For your information, I solved the problem by deleting the GPO which did the wsus configuration and create a new one. By the way, the new GPO is exactly the same as the older one.

Apparently I have to conclude that the GPO was not completely healthy.

    Hope it helps.
