Replica is inconsistent - DPM 2012 Standalone RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have a DPM 2012 standalone environment running on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Hyper-V Machine. Getting frequent "Replica is inconsistent" messages under Protection Group against Hyper-V Machines, and SQL Databases.

    Thank You, Anand

  • Hi,

We need failed job details for the backup job that failed that left the replica inconsistent.

  • Hello Mike,

Please find the failed job details,

    Affected area: E:\
    Occurred since: 5/10/2013 7:28:25 AM

Description: The replica of Volume E:\ on SQLSVR.********.internal is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. You can recover data from existing recovery points, but new recovery points cannot be created until the replica is consistent.

For SharePoint farm, recovery points will continue getting created with the databases that are consistent. To backup inconsistent databases, run a consistency check on the farm. (ID 3106)
DPM has run out of free space on the recovery point volume and will fail synchronization for E:\ on SQLSVR..********.internal in order to prevent existing recovery points from being deleted. (ID 30195 Details: Internal error code: 0x80990AB2)
     More information
Recommended action: Ensure there are no pending recovery point volume threshold alerts active for this data source and rerun the job. DPM may have automatically grown the volume and resolved the alerts.
     Synchronize with consistency check.
     Modify Disk Allocation ...
Run a synchronization job with consistency check...
Resolution: To dismiss the alert, click below

  • Hi,

The recovery point volume has run out of space, please click on the  Modify Disk Allocation ... link in the alert and add more disk space, then run a consistency check.
