  • One Front end show error but another one didn't have this event.

    Lync Server Event ID: 46050

    One or more Gateways are now marked unavailable.
    Gateways:
    192.x.x.x

    Cause: The gateway is unreachable or is responding with same failure response for calls.
    Resolution:
    Verify that Gateways are functioning and resolve any networking issues.

    Any Advise?

    Welcome to our forum.

    This issue could be caused by connection between mediation server and PSTN gateway, please check connection between mediation server and every PSTN gateway. The second factor is whether PSTN gateway is functioning.  If connections are working very well and PSTN is functioning, we suggest you update SFB server 2015 to the latest, include FE and mediation server.

  • Ping test from gateway to Front end or from front end to gateway is success.

    I use June 2016 update level, the error happen after deploy a two months suddently.

    Gateway or Front End doesn't have any special change for PSTN .

    2. Rebuild voice policy

  • First question is

    are you using Enterprise server or standard edition server.....

    Generally , standard editions are having collocated mediation server and enterprise edition servers have seperate Mediation server,

    above statement is most of the times true but sometimes differ,

    the above explanation is to tell you that, GW unreachability has nothing to do with FRONT END server

    and has to do with mediation server so try ping GW from mediation server in case it is collocated with FE then you can ping from FE server.

    the event you are seeing has come once or twice?? or its recurring????

    mostly this error is bcoz of unreachbility

  • Enterprise pool.

    2 front end servers,  only fe01 have erro but FE02 doesn't have this error.

    This error is recurring every half hours on fe01.

    But I test the calls are work fine.

    Could you please run this command in powershell and share how many mediation servers you see in the list

    Get-CsSite |? Services -Like "pstngateway:*XXXXXXXX*" |select -ExpandProperty Services

    XXXXXX this should be name of your PSTN GATEWAY like avayagw.domain.com

    Get-CsSite |? Services -Like "pstngateway:*avayagw.domain.com*" |select -ExpandProperty Services

    You will get list of pstngateways and mediation servers...please share how many mediation servers you get.

    In addition to above suggestions, we suggest you disable Windows firewall and A/V software on FE01 for a test to check if the error persist.

  • Hi Mick,

    As mentioned by Jim this must be a network issue. Please check the firewall logs to troubleshoot more.

    the same time you can use netmon from mediation to figure out which gateway it connects and is there proper communication between gateway and mediation.
