Incorrect link in workbook saved from Export to Excel in ReportViewPreview.aspx RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a formal location for submitting PerformancePoint bugs? I've run into several issues and this is one of them that I'm seeing with PerformancePoint 2010 with SP1 and Aug 2011 CU. I've browsed this forum and haven't seen this specific issue mentioned.

If you open an Analytic Grid or Chart directly from a PerformancePoint content list rather than through a dashboard and then Export to Excel, the link back to the source report from within the Excel workbook is incorrect.

    Steps to reproduce:

In SharePoint, navigate to the PerformancePoint Content list.

    • On an Analytic Grid or Chart report item, click on the item menu and select Display Report
    • A new window will open displaying the report using ReportViewPreview.aspx
    • When the report is rendered, click Export to Excel from the report's Web Part menu
    • Open the saved XSLX file
    • Click the Dashboard link (cell B3)
    • The browser will open to a page displaying an error message, "There was a problem setting the item location URL. The URL for the SharePoint item is invalid."

The URL in the workbook is in the following format:

    http://[Site]/_layouts/ppswebparts/ReportViewPreview.aspx?SiteLocation=[UrlEncodedSite]&ItemLocation=[UrlEncodedItemUrl]

The ampersand should not be HTML-encoded. It should be:

    http://[Site]/_layouts/ppswebparts/ReportViewPreview.aspx?SiteLocation=[UrlEncodedSite]&ItemLocation=[UrlEncodedItemUrl]

  • Hi there,

From what I have seen, the primary way to report a bug would be to open a support case with Microsoft, on the Sharepoint 2010 platform.

Alternatively, try contacting sharepointblog@live.com for an answer.

    cheers,

    Andrew
