IIS MP and hotfix kb958661 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am planning on bringing in the IIS MP and understand that hotfix kb958661 needs to be applied to all Windows 2008 servers with IIS installed.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958661

Does this apply only to Windows 2008 pre-R2 installations only or do Windows 2008 R2 installs need it as well?  Is this hotifx part of SP1 or SP2?

    Thanks,

    Keith

  • Hi Keith. The hotfix seems to be only for IIS7.0, so windows 2008. Win08R2 has IIS 7.5 so it would not apply.
From the KB article I cant see that it is included in any SP. You can of course check the dll versions given in the article against the same dll on your machine and see if yours is newer.
