Exchange 2010 SP2 issue with calendar publishing and all day events to iOS devices RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have calendar publishing configured and in general, it works fine. However, if an iOS device subscribes using the ics file option, all day events appear to span two days instead of just one. The start and end time will appear as Day 1 12:00 AM to Day 2 12:00 PM. I know the list of current issues with third party devices mentions a similar issue with Exchange 2007 and activesync, but it doesn't address 2010 and ICS publishing. Does anyone know if there is a fix available for this?

  • Hi,
    No Rollups installed?

The reason I asked, is that KB2563324 does mention the problem with multi-day All Events.
--> Issue 1.6 - An appointment is longer than 24 hours is changed to a multi-day All Day Event

..and this was a problem also with MS Devices, but solved in RU1.
Also, I have seen that some of the ofter problems only mentioned for EX07 has occured in EX10 and vice versa.

A meeting item displays incorrectly as multiple all-day events when you synchronize a mobile device on an Exchange Server 2010 mailbox

  • Thanks Martina,

I plan on installing RU1 this weekend and we'll see how it goes. I saw this, but it's not the same exact issue. The iOS devices are getting the calendar through the published calendar ICS functionality, not through Activesync. Hopefully it will be corrected anyway, but I'm not too optimistic since they are two different mechanisms.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,
Patching the server(s) is a good idea but if I were you, I would at least go to RU3 directly. (RU4-V2 is out)

  • I really need to get on a mailing list for these RU releases. I'll post what my results are after I install the latest one.

  • I knew I wasn't losing it... I had installed UR4 already, but the console reports the wrong version as explained here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2010/03/08/3409469.aspx. I didn't install UR4 v2 yet, but I don't think that will fix the problem anyway since it's not documented as a corrected problem. Any other ideas?

  • Yes, Rollups is never displayed in EMC :)

The only other think I can think about is to make sure the devices is updated and to post the question in a forum for Apple.
