How to eliminate section breaks in a compiled report in Word 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I merge word documents from several coworkers (by cutting and pasting), the new document often has "sections" (all unwanted).  Each "section" will have a first page with no header/footer (which I want for the first page of the entire report, but not within the report).  How can I eliminate sections?

Answers

  • You can delete section breaks via Find and Replace. Specify ^b for “Find what” and leave the “Replace with” box empty. Note that when you delete a section break, you will lose section formatting stored within that break. In particular, this may affect header and footer content.
