Reverse Group Policy for Internet Explorer Zones

    Question

  • Hi,
We have used group policies to push which urls are in intranet zones and which are in trusted zones.
But.... we want to return to the setting where users can change which site is in which zone but the options stay greyed out in the options, even after disabling the specific policy item.

Hope, someone can help. Than you so much in advance!

Did we run command gpupdate/force forcefully refresh group policy settings after disabling the policy settings? If not, group policy will get updated after a specific interval (by default 90 minutes on clients). Here, we can run command gpresult/h report.html to collect group policy result report to check if the policy settings have been successfully disabled.

To allow users to change websites, we can use Group Policy Preferences Registry to deploy the websites to the specific zones.

Regarding this point, the following article can be referred to as reference.
