MOM service is stopped on FCS Collection server (Windows 2008) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have three server FCS system for 1.5 years. MOM service has been stopped since 10/19/2010. It will stop right after I manually start it. Our Collection DB server is on windows 2008 SP2.

a)Someone said that just delete "ServerCache" file under C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\ForeFrontSecurity folder. I renamed the file under c:\ProgramData\Microsoft Operations Manager\ForeFrontSecurity folder and start MOM service. The problem is fixed.

    b) I also try to donwload a hot fix KB949874, but the file is not available on the web site. http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=949874&kbln=en-us. Where is the hotfix? Do I still need this hotfix?

  • Apply hotfix kb949874 and reboot the server does not fix the problem. Deleting single file "ServerCache" only fix the problem for few hours. Then we delete all files under "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\ForefrontClientSecurity" and then start MOM service. The problem is fixed for those fourdays so far.
