can not enable ASP.NET 2.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi all,

i was preparing to install MOSS2007 on my win 2003 server (64bit).

i followed the instructions of  the page "Deploy in a simple server farm (Office SharePoint Server)" ,

i was stumbled when i was about to enable asp.net 2.0, as under the Web Service Extensions folder, i could not find ASP.net of any version. dot net 3.5 SP1 was installed beforehand, and through add or remove programs, i saw dotnet 2.0 SP2, dotnet 3.0 SP2 and dotnet 3.5 SP1 .

    what could be the problem?

    thanks

  • one question, do you install IIS before install framework 2.0?
If dont exist  "Web Service Extensions " install ASP.NET 2.0 to your IIS using the following line
    cmd and run "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i".

Don worry about the other version 3.0 and 3.5 they are plug-in that use framework 2.0 as base.

  • I had this problem.  3.5 was installed and I could not get the 2.0 to work.  I removed the 3.5, installed 2.0, installed 3.0 then reinstalled 3.5.  May have been overkill, but seemed to get past that interruption in the installation process.

Also, I changed the ASP.NET version in IIS (it was still showing 1.1)

Admin tools - IIS manager - websites properties - ASP.NET tab

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi André,

i had IIS reinstalled, and asp.net 2.0 still did not show up under the Web Services Extensions folder.

for my 64bit system, i finally used the following cmd:

    %SYSTEMROOT%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 \v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

    it worked.

    thanks.
