Project Professional 2010 breaks 2002 Professional RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed a trial version of MS Project Professional on my workstation (XP Pro SP3) which has MS Project Professional 2002 already installed.  I can no longer save a 2002 created Project with 2002.  I get an error message telling me to possibly (1) verify arguement names and values are corect or (2) I may be out of memory.

I uninstalled MS Pro 2010, and could not run MS Pro 2002 at all.  I needed to reinstall.  Of course we cannot find the 8 year old source disc so I could not reinstall.

I have reinstalled the trial version of 2010 which gets me back to the initial dilemma.  Is there a solution to this?

  • Now I hope you see the value of keeping source disks and taking backups.  Puzzling why it interferred. I assumed you told the install program to retain old versions.

Try doing a system restore to a point just before you installed the new software.
