SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 upgrade info

Question
-
I am just looking for some info. I would like to find some good documentation on how to do the side by side upgrade from SCCM 2007 to 2012. Such as what are the steps to do first since I already have sccm 2007? Do i need to install SCCM 2012 then do the migration process separately or is there a process to do upgrade and migration together? We plan on using a different SQL server then we are currently using now so is there anything I need to be aware of when setting up the new instance on a different SQL server for SCCM 2012? Since it will be on a different SQL server will it affect the migration process? Can someone please point me to some good documentation regarding the upgrade etc? Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
DC

You need to consider lot of things before starting the migration.
Make sure that CM 07 package source needs changed to UNC path, if you have a mix of device and user collection then you need to do some work to segregate those. More consideration before the start of migration http://blogs.technet.com/b/server-cloud/archive/2012/03/27/migration-to-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx and http://blog-en.netvnext.com/2011/09/planning-migration-from-sccm-2007-to.html#!/2011/09/planning-migration-from-sccm-2007-to.html
