We are able to connect the latest Lync 2013 online using our laptops on wireless. However when using our mobile phones (Iphone and Android), neither works on same wireless.
We need assistance on how the app communicates and port it uses. Whats different from btwn laptop and mobile???

Hi,
For Lync mobile Lync client, no matter user internal or external the corporation (WIFI or 3G), a Reverse Proxy is needed in DMZ zone.
You can refer to the link below to see the function of Reverse Proxy and how to setup Reverse Proxy:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398069.aspx
For desktop client, if Lync user is internal the corporation, as user is in the internal network, Lync client can connect to FE Server directly. If Lync user is external the corporation, an Edge Server is needed to setup in DMZ to support external access.
So, if you want to use Lync mobile client, please setup a Reverse Proxy firstly.

The mobile apps work a bit differently to the clients. They rely on lyncdiscover DNS records and mobility web services.

Thanks for the hint!
For us it is the other way around. On mobile it works(althought it will give the 'we can't verify the certificate on the server' error the first time), but on laptop it can't connect to either of the 3 lync server addresses.
