Issues while replication between sites

  • Hi,

    We are having 3 sites in 3 locations. Each site is having one AD server. There was some firewall activity at location 3 after which server at Location 1 and Location 2 are not able to "replicate now" to the site at Location 3 from "sites and services". But "replicate now" is fine from all the 3 locations to the sites for Location 1 and Location 2. Even from Server 3, "replicate now" is fine for all the 3 sites.

    Location 1 -> Site 1 -> Server 1

    Location 2 -> Site 2 -> Server 2

    Location 3 -> Site 3 -> Server 3 -> Firewall Changes happened at this location.

    The error which is seen while "replicate now" is "The following error occurred during the attempt to contact the domain controller Server 3: RPC Server is unavailable".


    From the Client machines at Location 3, while giving gpupdate , we are getting the following errors:

    User policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encount
    ered:

    The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the user name.
    This could be caused by one of more of the following:
    a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.
    b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain co
    ntroller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
    Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were enc
    ountered:

    me. This could be caused by one of more of the following:
    a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.
    b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain co
    ntroller has not replicated to the current domain controller).

    It is seen that none of the policies are getting applied to the machines for the machines belonging to that site.

    Please help and let me know for any further clarification.
