  • No you can't restore at an item- level  recovery ex  specific mail , you can only recover at the mailbox-level .

  • You can restore mailbox DB to a recovery DB & then extract/copy individual mailbox from that recovery DB.

You need to use EMS for creating a recovery DB as it is not possible to create recovery DB from EMC.

  • Hello,

I have tried powershell command at Exchange to recover single mail item and it worked vv well , you run this command after recoverying the mailbox and you need to have some info about your lost mail item.

Restore-Mailbox     -Identity scott    -Recoverydatabase recovery  -subjectkeywords "meeting"  -contentkeywords "hello" -startDate 6/1/2011

where the subjectkeywords is a word found at the subject

Conentkeyword :is a word found at the mail .

    Thanks

  • DPM restores the SG\DB and then exchange powershell is used to restore any mailboxes or mails.
