Email message in noteboard webpart RRS feed

  • Hi 

    i have a noteboard webpart in My site. Whenever someone has written any comments in noteboard and post it,sharepoint sends  the mail to the user. I want some customization (custom message) in the mail .how can i achieve this ?

  • This smells like SharePoint 2010, so forgive me if my answer stinks.  I'm just a 2007 schlep.

    Assuming that the comment is a list item, then it stands to reason that an SPD workflow can be triggered, and deliver a better email message.

  • Well the noteboard webpart is the webpart used in social communication . Below is the setting for alert message for mysite . i want to edit or customize the message sent by sharepoint . 




    I am still have not got from where the message has come !!

  • There could be several answers for this.  Can you post a screenshot of the alerts email?

  • You're using SharePoint 2010. 

    I found this: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepointdeveloperdocs/archive/2007/12/07/customizing-alert-notifications-and-alert-templates-in-windows-sharepoint-services-3-0.aspx. But it applies to 2007.  

    Try it and see.
