Windows Vista - Home Premium Edition fails to launch RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently purchased a HP-Pavilion running Microsoft Windows Vista - Home Premium Edition (x32) when a user logs off or the system goes to sleep it often (mostly) fails to re-start. Ctrl-Alt-Delete will occasionally bring up the "Welcome" screen but the "blue processing circle" symbol never leads to the system re-start, it just hangs for hours. Nothing I do can revive the system and it cannot even be shut down properly so out of desperation I have to pull the plug out of the wall socket to turn the computer off and re-boot.

What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

    Thanks,
    AR

  • hi ! dont unplug your computer like this.. just try the safe hardware shutdown, by pressing the power ON/OFF button on the cabinet, (press and hold for 5 or 6 seconds) , that wont burn your hardware Smile , and for the sleep issue, it seems that your PSU(SMPS) is faulty, contact HP for it Smile , and you can also change the start menu power button config to shutdown rather than sleep. Smile

    cheers
