Hybride Exchange - Internal messages getting wrong UPN

    Question

  • L.S.

Having an issue with the following:

O365 users mail an on-prem user, and not get the prim alias (company.com) but the on.microsoft.com
On the Exchange server the primairy SMTP is company.com.

What could be the issue? It's the auto-complete on the clients Outlook that makes it on.microsoft.com.

    Thanks a bunch gents.

Answers

  • did you setup your hybrid configuration wizard properly?

did you fix the UPN on all the AD and changed from .local to FQDN?

did you setup your new SMTP domain as the primary and default SMTP in the O365 Tenant?

Follow these fixes and it will work and if not then post the issue here.

  • If their primary SMTP is being overridden, clear the outlook name cache and make sure they have not saved the user as a Contact with the other address.

  • Hi Vasil,

Thanks for answering, but is Outlook to blame or is the discovery / resolving of the SMTP faulty?

I think it's an issue in the Tenant that picks the on.microsoft over the company.com?

    or ?

    Thanks!
