Error 943: Unable to connect to the DPM database because the database is in an inconsistent state. RRS feed

  • I am unable to add new member servers to my default protection group. I also can't edit the protection group I get the following error.

    Modify protection group: Default Protection Group failed:

    Error 943: Unable to connect to the DPM database because the database is in an inconsistent state.

    Recommended action: Contact an experienced SQL Server administrator whenever this error occurs. In some cases, it may be necessary to restore the DPM database. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support.

    Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    please refer to the following article for more troubleshooting information in regards to this error:

    Troubleshooting Database Issues

    You'll have to check the consistency (and integrity) of the SQL database. I would do it as the error message says it - with an "experienced SQL Server administrator". Here are some ueful information on the topic:

  • I did run DBCC CHECKDB and no errors were found.

    Any other help?
