Skype for Business 2015 Performance Issues

I have 2 pools with 12 front ends each and a SQL backend for each pool. I currently have around 100.000 users in each pool. Performance is good for a few days and then I begin to experience issues with FEs dropping, presenting with extremely high ping times. The servers will recover for a time until eventually the pool will fail after losing quorum. Rebooting the FEs resolves the issue for a few days. Then the cycle starts again. The FEs and SQL are on VMWare. Running Server 2016. We have found buffers on the NICs filling up on the VMs and have expanded the buffer size. I have had a premier case opened to look at my Skype deployment and after uploading data, nothing has been found wrong with my deployment. Has anyone seen anything resembling this type of issue? The VMs are built to MS specifications. I am lost as to what could be the cause.

Hi Jason Garris,

Is the network connectivity stable in your environment?

Does this issue happen to the server every time?

If so, it should be related to this server itself. You can check if the OS needs to update some patches. Make sure the driver of network adapter is the latest version.

If the server is random, you can monitor the network of these front-end servers. Then check the Windows Fabric state for pools by Get-CsPoolFabricState.

If still no luck, you can test the connectivity of your environment by this tool: https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/.

Moreover, check if your back-end server needs to patch or update. If needs, please follow this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/manage/topology/patch-or-update-a-back-end-or-standard-edition-server.

Have you already seen Virtualizing Microsoft Skype for Business Server on VMware vSphere®?
Check at least vCPU to cores ratio (2.1.5.1. Skype for Business Roles and Certain Microsoft SQL Server Editions Limitations) and whether you have RSS enabled on NIC and OS level.
