Unable to open a word document

I am trying to open a document that I worked on all day (and saved) yesterday....47 pages. I keep getting the error message box "word has encountered a problem", etc.

I have rebooted completely....no luck.

I have spoken to Apple....doesn't appear to be a Mac issue.

I have Word for Mac 2011

All other word documents are fine and can be opened except for this one.

Help!

It's recommended to download and install Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office programs.
