Task Scheduler not updating powercfg waketimers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have recently had all sorts of problems with task scheduler (TS) under win7 x64 HP. My problems manifested when trying to get MCE to wake up my computer to start a recording. I was sure I had this working at the end of Dec, but within the last week, I noticed I was not getting any recordings whenever my computer sleeps. TS does not appear to be setting any wake timers.

In debugging the problem, I have been trying to just get TS to put up a msg box or send email. Neither works. When I manually trigger it with "run", the history shows the task is triggered, started, and stopped, but no msg box appears and no email is sent. I also tried scheduling it with the same lack of results.

  • Hi,

Please delete this task, and re-create one for a test.

Also, the following troubleshooting guide is for your reference.

Addtionally, you may try to restart Task Scheduler service to see whether this makes any  difference.

    1. Launch CMD under System priviledge via psexec.exe.

    2. Type sc stop Schedule to stop Task Scheduler service.

    3. Type sc start Schedule to start Task Scheduler service again.
