Installation of DPM 2012 R2 with remote SQL Server 2012 - Database was not created RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    i have a problem while installing dpm 2012 r2.

    Server 1 - DPM Server - 2012r2

    Server 2 - Database Server - 2012r2 - SQL2012

    Both are hyper-v machines.

I'm trying to install DPM on Server 1, while installing i get the error : The DPM database was not created.

The SQL is installed correctly, the DPM has connection. While installing it also creates the database but then fails while creating the tables. The User is local admin on the SQL Server and has all rights in the sql server. In the DPM Install log the failure comes after this line:

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\SQLCMD.EXE" -b -E -d DPMDB_backupserver -i master.sql -r -S sqlserver\instance

If i put that line in a admin CMD on the dpm server it executes and the tables are created correctly. But in the installation process it's not working and the installation just ends...

I already reinstalled the sql server, no changes.
