Managing updates for Testing and Production Environments RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have a customer that ask for managing updates for testing and production environments. They have several Windows Servers in production and cloned in testing environment, and they want to apply several updates to servers in testing and 2 weeks later if everything was ok apply the same group of updates to servers in production. But they want to have some kind of automatization, because with WSUS they know that the have to take note of every update and then 2 weeks later apply one by one the same group of updates to servers in production.

    So, Does anybody knows how to do it just with WSUS? is possible? in case of a negative answer, the solution is SCCM? or another tool?

  • there seems to be a few scripts/utilities available for WSUS to "copy approvals for a Group, to another Group"



    Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]

    As far as I know, there is no built-in solution for this on WSUS server.

    Agree with Don, script might be a simple way to achieve your goal.

    To automatize this process, just create a schedule task to run the script.
