java wont install on my computer RRS feed

    i run the installer on my computer  i have windows vista home premium an it loads all the way to the end pretty much then it just wont finnish it check the task manager an it says its still running but ive left it for hours an it still wont finnish installing

    Hi Catacalizmic, 

    Try uninstalling all traces of the program.

    and reinstall from 

    https://www.java.com/en/download/help/windows_manual_download.xml

    If this fails try running the install file as an admin if you still recieve no progress with this installation check the compatibility mode of the program by going into the properties edit these so they are compatible with your system.

    it has even crashed my computer a couple times any help or info would be great

    uninstall the old version using java uninstall tools and download the latest from Java site and try to install back

    this is how you download the latest one, I suggest do manual download

    Hi catacalizmic,

    Please make sure your system is up to date.

    Download newest Setup program from software website.

    Specific software installation failure might be caused by application compatibility or faulty package.

    If the issue persists, please refer to software manufacturer for further support.
