Unable to send emails on Mediacom using Windows live mail 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Windows live mail 2011 and my internet provider is Mediacom.

2 weeks ago my outgoing emails stopped working, they just sit in the outbox - I get the error message "Server error 554"

Unable to connect with server.  I'm using mail.mediacombb.net as my outgoing email server and Port 465.  The SSL Box is checked.

There has been no problem with my incoming emails, they work fine.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated

  • Same problem here, but it just started about 36 hours ago. Tried calling Mediacom yesterday but couldn't get through because of high caller volume. Everyone probably has the same problem. Connected with them via Chat and they claim they have a problem with Windows Live Mail being blocked on their server. They're supposedly working to fix the problem. In the meantime, though, you can use their Web-based service at https://webmail.mediacombb.net/ to send messages. Also, I did a System Restore yesterday, so I don't think it's a Windows-based problem.
