Editing Excel in browser mode...

Question

Hi
Is it possible to have an Excel file (added via the web part) in either PDP or in the Project Site where I can edit in Browser mode and not have to open the Excel file?
Many thanks
James

Hi, here are the options that you have within a webpart:
Adding additional content and switching the tabs is possible without opening the file in the client.

Hi Julian
Thanks for this. However there doesn't seem to be an option to edit in Browser mode
Cheers

Editing within the browser is only available with OWA.
Do you have OWA installed and configured for SharePoint? Which version are you running? OWA is configured differently for each version of SharePoint.

Hi Michael
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Only using POL (no SP has been configured). I'm assuming it can't be done then?
Many thanks

Hi James,
As a workaround, you may create a List on Project site and use the data sheet view which is kind of excel rows but not exactly the same. You can always export the data in excel when it's needed. The below is example from Task list..If you found this post helpful, please “Vote as Helpful”. If it answered your question, please “Mark as Answer”.
