  • Hi,

    The start menu is now considered an "app", so if you have anything blocking apps, you're now blocking the start menu. Please try the following acitions:

    1.Please check if there is a GPO that enables AppLocker executable rules. The path is group policy management\Computer configuration\Plolicies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Application Control Policies\AppLocker\Executable Rules or Packaged app Rules.

    2.Execute these two commands in Poweshell (as Admin) and it will reinstall the startmenu plus Cortana.
    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Cortana | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Hope my answer can help you. Look forward to your feedback.

    Best regards,
    Simon Ren

  • Hi John,

    Yes, we can run the command lines with admin privileges to reinstall the startmenu to have a test on one client.

    We can open PowerShell using the Task Manager with marking the checkbox "Create this task with administrative privileges" or press the Win + X keys on the keyboard to select Windows PowerShell(Admin) to run the command lines. As shown below:

    Hope it helps. Look forward to your feedback.

    Best regards,
    Simon
