Built in Juniper VPN client: " A request to send or receive data was disallowed... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

When trying to create a Juniper VPN connection using the built in client on Windows 8.1 I get the following error:

"A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied"

I cannot find any information on what this means and how I might rectify the issue, can anybody help?

    thanks

    Bryn

  • Hi there

Were you ever able to find a solution to this? We're running into the same error.

    Thanks!

  • Same here, setting up 2 computers, works fine on the Dell labtop, not on the HP one. can't see any network differences.

  • Allowed https traffic through kaspersky, worked, started out with completely disabling it. then disabled firewall, which wasnt enough ?!? then allowed all https traffic. couldnt be asked to investigate further.

so best bet seems to be check antivirus / firewall rules.

This could definitely be the culprit for us as well. We found that machines not on our domain are able to join the VPN without issue, whereas those on our domain - and therefor with Group Policies and our AV which happens to be LANDesk powered by Kaspersky - do not work.

Any chance you can provide more info on the specific settings you updated?

    Thanks!
