  • Question

  • I have MDT installed and have images built. My ip for mdt is

when i boot a system for a pxe boot it does not pull an ip address even though this is configured in dhcp

if i place the system onto a different dhcp server i do get a dhcp address.

what needs to be configured to allow me to see across subnets if i cant pull an ip address on the .74 range? i get an ip on a .54 address range.

  • Hi

You need a IPhelper in your network for the DHCPserver and for the WDS server.

    Kind regards

  • You don't clearly indicate if the DHCP, PXE, and/or MDT servers are in fact one in the same.

However, yes, if you have a PXE server on one SubNet .74, then clients on the other subnets .75 can't broadcast to the PXE Server subnet, unless you have IPHelpers.

    This is by design.
