    Question

  • Hello,

    Configured the following policy,

    Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Troubleshooting and Diagnostics -> Application Compatibility Diagnostics -> "Detect compatibility issues for applications and drivers" to "Disabled".

    Tried to install SQL 2005 exp in windows 2012 r2 server.But its showing same error of compatibility either its disable or enable.

  • I have not tested for your scenario, but this article refers to other settings which may be useful for your scenario

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2545347

    A group policy setting is provided to disable PCA for all programs if desired. The name of the policy is Turn Off Program Compatibility Assistant. It can be found under
    Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Application Compatibility in the group policy editor (gpedit.msc).

    There are also individual policies to turn off specific scenarios. These policies are available under
    Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting and Diagnostics\Application Compatibility Diagnostics in the group policy editor.

    Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]

  • Hi,
    Please have a try:
    Open GPMC;
    Create a GPO and link to the OU which the server is located in;
    Navigate to: Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Application Compatibility
    Enable both settings: Turn off Application Compatibility Engine and Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant
    Run gpupdate /force command or reboot server to take effect the policy and try again.
    Best regards,
    Wendy
