  • Do you want to know the day of the week and display on BGinfo?

    Use the following VBS script code below in bold (then follow the rest of the instructions which you probably know):

    ' BGinfo Script for getting the Weekday Name
    ' Adapted by Robert S. Hurd P.E. from a post from the link:
    ' https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/heyscriptingguy/2004/08/27/how-can-i-determine-the-day-of-the-week/
    ' Blog comment from September 11, 2013 that
    ' displays the Weekday Name in a Message Box
    '
    ' The "Wscript." has been removed from the echo
    ' command line so it will pass the information to
    ' BGinfo, instead of outputting directly to a Windows
    ' Message Box.
    '
    dtDate = Date
    strNum = Weekday(dtDate)
    strDay = WeekdayName(strNum)
    'Wscript.Echo strDay     Commented out Message Box Popup
    Echo strDay      ' Echo Day Name to BGinfo

    Save the File as a vbs file, such as 'Weekday_Name.vbs' and remember where you saved it!

    Enter BGinfo, select 'Custom' button, Select 'New', Add new Identifier with something like 'Weekday name", then select the 'VB Script dot, go to 'Browse', navigate to wherever you saved the above vbs file and select it, Click OK, Click OK again to leave 'User Defined Fields". Navigate to in the 'Fields' in the upper right of the BGinfo box, find your new Weekday Name key, Find the spot on the left pane where you want to put it, Click 'Add', Fix the formatting (color, font, location, etc.). Click 'Apply' and see if it looks correct on your wallpaper.  When it's the way you want it, click OK.

    You're done.  Enjoy your day.  😉
