Automatic Span of Project Task... RRS feed

  • Question

  • In creating a project plan part of the plan is accounting for the management of the project.  Traditionally I create a task and have it go from the start date and then manually set it to complete on the last date.  It would be much better to have a way of doing this automatically so that I don't have to remember to update if the project plan changes in some way.

Is there a way to do this in MS Project 2007 and that I may not have found?

  • What you are looking for, I think, is a "hammock" task.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammock_activity and http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Hammock%20Tasks

  • Hi,

Through Tools, Options, View, check "Show Project Summary task" (below right). That's all.

    Greetings,
