IE9 messes up logins for subsequent users. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have  a unique problem.  Whenever you install IE9 on a Windows 7 Pro 32bit machine, anyone who has never logged on that machine before has a bizarre looking desktop that resembles Win98.  There is a solid gray bar across the bottom with the "old fashioned" start button.  None of the taskbar icons are there on the right to show you what is running except the show desktop button. (ie...Mcafee, volume control etc...).  We have done some research that says it is a registry error done by IE9's installer but the fix we got from the State doesn't solve the issue.  Please help!  Here is screenshot of what it looks like.

Sounds like a normal Taskbar.  Does it work as a Taskbar?  E.g. right-click, etc?   What about right-click on the Start button, what does that show?

BTW while waiting for your account to be approved you can upload an image file and post a URL to it without a protocol prefix.

RSS feed about that because this thread is so unmanageable with as many posts as it now has.
