Project server 2007 error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

    I accidentally removed default ssp's host site, therefore my sites were not accessible, we decided to create a new shared services and re-associate our all web applications to new ssp.

     Not only the problem was not solved but also project server 2007 broke down and it shows the following error message:

    "An unexpected error has occurred" / or "Action could not be completed".

    We moved back all web applications to the previous ssp at sat it to default again. Bat project server doesn’t work anymore.

    Please help me as soon as possible

  • Hi there,

    In this case, I would have tried like this:
    1. Backup the WSS content database for the web application as well as all four project server databases.
    2. Drop the existing preexisting web application on port 80 (http://server) using Central Administration
    3. Add a new web application and content database for http://server
    4. Add a blank site collection at the root of http://server
    5. Create a new /PWA site collection using the four standard Project Server databases (ProjectServer_Draft, ProjectServer_Archive, ProjectServer_Published, ProjectServer_Reporting)
    6. add the backed up content database to web application
    7. remove the blank content database
    8. Use the site re-linker tool to re-link the project work spaces to project:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197498(office.12).aspx

    You might get the help from the below blog for moving the content database:

  • Hi Amit

    Tanks for your solution, I tried it and followed the steps, my data is now on the new server but 2 problems have occurred:

    1. The Timesheet webpart doesn't load, when we edit the page it says "period not defined" but when i go to timesheet periods page there are ready there, I also defined a new period but the problem exists.

    2. I can't open the projects plan by MS Project,  the error is:

    "Project server encountered a problem
    with error code 42" and this for more info "<detail><errinfo><general><class
    name="An unhandled exception occurred in WinProj.ReadProjectCoreData."><error
    id="42" name="GeneralUnhandledException"
    uid="e49b4edb-7aaa-4e0f-984f-04f1dc2b78f4"/></class></general></errinfo></detail>"

    please guide me to solve these problems as well
    Tanks

  • There are some failed jobs in the queue after relinking the project workspaces:

    ProjectName: DVBT 72

    Job Type: WSS Workspace Membership Synchronization

    job state: Failed But Not Blocking Correlation

    Queue GeneralQueueJobFailed Error details:

    Error summary/areas:

    Queue

    GeneralQueueJobFailed

    Error details:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>

    <errinfo>

      <general>

        <class name="Queue">

          <error id="26000" name="GeneralQueueJobFailed" uid="194afe90-aef5-47f0-bbeb-e6920ca70d7f" JobUID="88a8f35b-2e3e-47ae-bcff-31f41da370a9" ComputerName="ANTIVIRUS" GroupType="SynchronizeMembershipForWssSite" MessageType="SynchronizeMembershipForWssSiteMessage" MessageId="1" Stage="" />

        </class>

      </general>

    </errinfo>

    and for ULS Log, I found this error:
