BUG: cannot show information about processes within Linux Subsystem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using Windows Pro 10.0.17763,

    1. enable Windows Feature Windows Subsystem for Linux
    2. From the Microsoft Store, Install Debian GNU/Linux
    3. Start the Debian program (starts a bash prompt within the Linux Subsystem)
    4. start Process Explorer with Administrator Privileges
    5. Review the Linux process entry within Process Explorer
BUG: Process Explorer does not have information about the Linux Subsystem processes
For example, column Path has string "[A device attached to the system is not functionning]".
Other common columns are also empty.

    Using Process Explorer 16.21.

Also reported in github WSL Issue 1031.

  • WSL uses a pico process, so much of the stuff Process Explorer displays doesn't actually exist.
