    I am installing a new SCCM 2012. I am trying to install it on a SQL cluster and I keep getting errors.

    I can install it on a standalone sql server using the default database mssqlserver but not on a named database.

    I had to change the port from Dynamic to Static in the IPALL section.

    It would be more than helpful if you would have provided some details. Which SQL version are you using? Which error message have you seen?

    I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise addition. Its built on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. I have Configuration Manager 2007 running on the same cluster. I want to build a 2012 version to run side by side so I can migrate the site over.

    The error is ' Setup is unable to connect to SQL Server with the connection information provided. Verify the following

    - The Sql Server and Instance names are entered incorrectly

    -The specified Sql server instance is not configured to use dynamic ports

    -If a firewall is enabled on the SQL Server, inbound rule exists to allow connections to the correct port

    -The account used to run setup has permissions to connect to the specified SQL Server instance
