How to add a MOSS/Win2008 frontend to an existing MOSS/Win2003 Farm and avoid "cannot connect"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an existing Windows 2003 R2 MOSS Server and I would like to add a new Windows 2008 R2frontend with MOSS installed to the farm. The farm runs on MSSQL 2005.

    - added the Windows 2008 server to the same domain
    - MOSS is installed, but not configured yet

Using the Sharepoint Products and Technology wizard I want to add the new server to the farm.

I choose add server to an existing Farm. When I enter the database server the configdb gets displayed. Entering credentials the wizard passes to next screen.

Step 1 OK, Step 2 - connecting to ConfigDB => Error
