Certificate to run the exe file RRS feed

  • Question

  • In my company newly setup web page , there is a .exe file to download and run it on windows , however the windows smartscreen deny to do that for the security reason , unless change the system security level to lower .

Just would like to ask if there is any method that can run the .exe file without change system security level , for example , apply any certificate , does windows server may issue such certificate or I can find it from third-party ?

  • No, Microsoft doesn’t issue the certificate for third party software.

You can turn off SmartScreen from Defender and IE, then check your .exe again.
