explorer.exe takes huge amount of RAM; access to NAS almost impossible RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm running on WIN7 and use a synology NAS drive as well as a few internal drives. Since a few days it happened that when I access the NAS it works for a while and then I can't browse in the explorer anymore. Loading a folder or even folder trees takes ages or doesn't work at all.

Browsing through the internal drives works in a heart beat, no problem.

explorer.exe takes on huge amounts of RAM (3.4GB), so I guess something isn't quite right.

I looked through the internet but couldn't find any solutions to that.

Did any of you come accross this problem? I'm running the NAS since 18 months and had never any problems before.

    Thanks, much appreciated!
