Federation with consumer Skype

Question
-
Hello, I have some users who are constantly having to add their consumer Skype contacts, the behaviour is that they add the contact, the contact accepts, they are able to IM and call each other (audio and video), but when the SFB user logs out or exits the client and logs back in, the consumer contact shows pending and if we try to open an im window, it warns us that the remote user needs to accept, on the consumer skype end, they are able to contact us immediately, see our presence or call us,
I've found a workaround, the skype users needs to remove the sfb contact from their list and re-add them, then the SFB contact is able to see the presence and IM them.
BUt it's becoming troublesome, some users do not have this issue at all
Any idea how to fix this ?

Hi pjaneiro,
Does this issue persist on the affected users? Or what changes do they have before this issue happened?
Do you add the Skype for Business contact on the Skype client?
I tested in my Skype and Skype for Business clients and find an interesting thing.
I search the Skype user in Skype for Business client within the Skype Directory and add it to my contact lists. Then I try to open the IM window, it shows the error message as below. I can only start the conversation from Skype client. Then the Skype for Business client will receive the conversation and reply it.
After that, I search the Skype for Business user in Skype client and add it as my contact. I can start the conversation from the Skype for Business client now. The presence also shows correctly. Even sign out or exit the Skype for Business client, there is no affect.
So, I guess the solution is to add each other as contacts on both clients correctly. Hope it will be helpful.

Sharon Zhao

Both contacts are added on each end, problem is when the SFB user logs out, the contact goes back to pending, the sfb user has to ask the consume skype to delete the sfb contact and re add it, this only affects some users, nothing has changed as per my understanding

Hi pjaneiro,
Please check if there is any related error message in client log by this path: C:\Users\yourprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\1x.0\Lync\Tracing\Lync-UccApi-0.UccApilog.
You could also clear the client cache and try again.

Hi pjaneiro,
What do you mean the SQL tables?
According to the logs, I didn’t find the clue. Perhaps, you could check the firewall settings.
