SCCM 2007 and SCCM 2012 SUP share WSUS server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We currently have one primary sccm2007 server with a SUP to a separate WSUS server. We are migrating to sccm 2012 and will be adding the SUP role to use the existing WSUS server. While we are in the process of the migration, can both sccm 2007 and sccm 2012 have SUP pointing to the same WSUS server? We won't actually have any clients moved to sccm 2012 yet.

  • Hi,

No you cannot share the WSUS server, the two SCCM servers will reconfigure the WSUS server over and over again. I would setup a new WSUS Server in your SCCM 2012 Environment.

  • Ok. Thank you. When i'm ready to migrate the clients, i'll remove the SUP from SCCM 2007. What do you actually mean by "the two SCCM servers will reconfigure the WSUS server over and over again"?
