Updating employeeJobFamily from Manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am new to FIM,

    I have an attribute named "employeeJobFamily" it is user type.

    I am trying to update all users that have the value = "General" in that attribute by the value in their manager "employeeJobFamily" Attribute.

    1)I created a Set that can get all these users,

    2) trying to create a WF that can get the value for this Attribute"employeeJobFamily" from the Manager.

    I need help with how I can query another person attribute and retrieve this value.

    I am open to any other idea

    Thanks

  • Hi!

    You can use the "Function Evaluator" WF Activity with:

    Destination: [//Target/employeeJobFamily]

    Value: CustomExpression [//Target/Manager/]

    Like this

  • Your welcome, if you want to do the same thing with FIM Sync one way of doing it is to export all persons to an SQL DB and then import from a view where the join off the data has been made.

  • I found that we have SR has these 2 attribute flow

    1)MV "employeeJobFamily" ---> AD "extentionAttribute15"

    2)1)MV "employeeJobFamily" ---> AD "employeeJobFamily"

    is there is any way to keep the second one as is and,

    modify the first one to flow the value of AD "extentionAttribute15" with the Manager value in attribute "employeeJobFamily"  if the user "employeeJobFamily"  has the value = "General" in that attribute.

    Thanks

  • I tried to use a function and custom experation in the SR on the source Attribute

    (1)MV "employeeJobFamily"but the  part of [//Target/Manager/employeeJobFamily]. did't save since I cant use that here.
