  • Open up the Exchange Management Console.  Go to Toolbox.  Open up Public Folder Management Console. Connect to your server with Public Folders.  Find the folder you want to change (make sure it is in the right pane of the console) and right click on the folder.  Select Properties.  Go to the 'Limits' tab.  There are a few options to configure on that tab that should do what you want.

  • You can configure the retention on public folder side.

    Configure Public Folder Properties

  • The Age Limits parameter on the folder will delete the content automatically.  See this for reference:

    AgeLimit

The AgeLimit parameter specifies the overall age limit on the folder. Replicas of this public folder are automatically deleted when the age limit is exceeded. This parameter is mutually exclusive with the UseDatabaseAgeDefaults parameter.

  • Dear Xiu Zhang,

Thanks for the great article for understanding public folder options. Unfortunatily this article didn't fit on my requirements want i want is to automatically delete the public folder contents which are older than 14 days.
