Sending emails with restricted permissions RRS feed

  • We have Azure RMS activated in Office 365 and deployed on-premises Azure RMS Connector server, configured Exchange 2013 for RMS connector.

    When the user tried to send email message with RMS restricted template, user is getting " Microsoft Outlook was not able to create a message with restricted permissions" . User can see all the (three) templates in "Options -> Permissions", but not able to use templates. 

    Installed MS Online Services Sign-in Assistant as well as AD Rights Management Services SDK 2.1 on client machine, but still getting error message.

    We use password hash, don't have ADFS servers...

    Any help to resolve this issue is much appreciated...

  • That's an odd one.

    Check the logs in %localappdata%\Microsoft\msipc\logs
    That might give us a better indication.
    Also I would install the RMS Sharing Application and see if it has the same issue. With it you can test outside of Office by right-clicking and choosing to share protected or protect in place.
    What version of outlook is this?
