Same Meeting ID RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone

    Greetings

We have a issue with the conference ID when a user books different meetings. Each user books your meeting and the conference ID is different for everyone, but if a user books a meeting in different hours, the meeting generates the same conference ID. Doesn´t matter if the meeting is today or yesterday or tomorrow, has the same conference ID.

Anyone know why happened that and how can we resolve it?

We found how to reset the assigned conference information for each user when we sign in for the dialin URL and then works fine, but you can imagine that our company has many users, so it is a hard work.

Does exists any command to reset the conference ID for all users?

Thank so much for your help.

    Regards.

  • Hi NameHJeff!

What is your current environment? On-premise or Online?

In my research, that's by default and it's called dedicated meeting space. With a public meeting, the conference ID and the meeting link remain consistent each time is held. With a private meeting, the conference ID and meeting link change from meeting to meeting.

You can use the command “Get-CsMeetingConfiguration | Set-CsMeetingConfiguration -AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault $false” to use a new conference ID for each meeting. The following link shows more details about this command:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/skype/set-csmeetingconfiguration?view=skype-ps

If you want to reset the conference ID in Skype for Business Online. You can use the command “Set-CsOnlineDialInConferenceUser” to reset it.

For more details about reset conference ID, please refer to:

  • Hi Jimmy.

Our skype for business environment is on-premise but our exchange is hybrid.

We checked the AssignedConferenceTypeByDefault parameter and is false.

Our dynamic conference ID was working fine, but we don´t know when it failed.

All users have different conference ID when they use a skype for business meeting in their outlook, but when they book a different meeting in different time or days or week, have the same ID.

    For example:

user1 booked a meeting on friday 22snd at 8:00 am. It generated a conference ID: 123456

User 1 booked a meeting on monday 25th at 2:00 pm. It generated the same conference ID

user2 booked a meeting on friday 22snd at 11:00 am. It generated a conference ID 890125

User 2 booked a meeting on thursday 26th at 3:00 pm. It generated the same conference ID

So we need a solution for all users. We know how to reset for one user, but we need to reset for all users.

Also, the customer asked us which is the reason of the conference ID doesn´t change.

    Regards.

  • Hi NameHJeff!

Have you tried to use the command “Set- CsOnlineDialInConferenceUser” to reset Conference ID

Because of the limitations of our test environment, we need you to run this command to ensure if this command used for only one user or all users.

Besides, make sure if your Skype enabled re-occouring meeting. It will keep the same meeting ID throughout the series.

    Hope everything goes well.

    Best Regards,
    Jimmy Yang
