File location from start screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

How do I locate the actual file from the link in the start screen? For example, I just installed the netflix app. The big netflix logo now appears in the start screen and allows me to use netflix. However, I want to see whether the executed netflix program exe is digitally signed. To this end, I have to locate where the file is located and if there are multiple netflix files in my drive, WHICH of those files is pointed to by the link on the start screen. How do I find out?

    Thanks.

    Hi

All of the Windows Modern UI apps are installed in a Sandboxed container (Package).

The containers are located at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.

The configuration files for the apps are located at C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Packages.

Some apps do not use an .exe file.

Here are a couple of links that provide some good details about the functionality of the Modern UI apps.
